Vijana Na Rutto Condemn Amos Mwago Over Ruto Remarks

By Greenspan Dulo, August 17, 2026

A section of youths under the Vijana Na Rutto banner has condemned Starehe MP Amos Mwago over remarks they say were disrespectful to President William Ruto and the Office of the President.

Led by Mutuma Mworia, the group took issue with the MP’s alleged reference to President Ruto as “takataka,” arguing that political disagreements should not descend into personal insults or undermine the dignity of the presidency.

The youths called on political leaders to exercise restraint and respect state institutions while holding the government accountable through democratic and constitutional means.

They also urged young Kenyans to reject attempts by what they termed “visionless leaders” to use the youth for political interests, instead calling for constructive participation, national development and peaceful political engagement.
